Most of our finds come from talking with people at garage sales or small-town parts stores. Many times, those conversations would lead to a rare find, sometimes, however, cool stuff just falls out of the sky.

Family Finds Remains Of Old Daimler Car Buried In Their Yard

Family Finds Remains Of Old Daimler Car Buried In Their Yard When you’re doing a bunch of yardwork, there’s certain things you expect to find: roots, bits of rock, the remains of your neighbor’s Pomeranian you forgot to feed for a week and told them ran away, maybe some old bottles. What you don’t expect to find are the rusty remnants of a 1949 Daimler Consort, but that’s exactly what this British family found. The Ward family lives on the island of Guernsey, and were digging up a rocky part of their yard when they hit something that sure sounded like metal.

Finding the queen is alway the challenge when doing a cut out. I got the queen, but unfortunately, I didn't capture it on video.

Such was the case when a friend told us about a Dodge Travco motorhome in a farmer's yard. We got lost on the way to the Travco and stumbled upon a garage full of nice Mopars instead. The family who owned the property invited me to see the rest of their collection.

Work on this car had been put on hold temporarily while the couple focused their efforts on their his/her pair of 1970 Plymouth Superbirds. Their son also owns a Super Bee- a 1970 440 Six Pack car, one of 499 produced with a four-speed manual.

I did eventually find that Travco, but that's for another article. If you know of cool hiding in barns, let me know. Email TheAutoArchaeologist@yahoo.com

This Shelby GT500 Convertible Stuffed in a Garage Is One of Just 335 In Existence .
That's one hell of a barn find.Cotter was driving around searching for interesting cars on the side of the road when he came across a neglected 1965 Mustang coupe parked in the front yard of a house. Upon further investigation, he discovered the owner had a much more interesting Mustang stashed in the garage: A 1970 Shelby GT500 convertible. One of just 335 examples ever built, it's an incredibly rare and special piece of American muscle not often seen in such disheveled condition.
