Enough to gather by the hundreds with others of their own ilk. Enough to stand in line for more than half an hour for a free lunch.  Enough to withstand s gusty winds and dust bowls after spending all morning detailing their Subaru – yup, that much!

In its 14th year, the Toronto Subaru Club’s Hyper Meeting made a venue change this year, inviting Subaru enthusiasts to the 5 Drive-In in Oakville, Ontario, to host their annual fundraising event in support of Ronald McDonalds Children’s Hospital in Toronto.

Any and all Subaru owners (and their cars) were welcome to attend the free, family fun-filled event.  With free food, a show and shine, rally driver Antoine L’estage and co- driver Alan Ockwell on hand for a meet & greet, and plenty of Subaru enthusiasts’ cars to look at, it was a great afternoon for Subaru fans of all types.

Subaru Plugging-In Crosstrek Using Toyota Hybrid Tech

Subaru Plugging-In Crosstrek Using Toyota Hybrid Tech Subaru has just announced that it will be making a plug-in version of the Crosstrek compact crossover. It's the automaker's first plug-in, but not its first hybrid. Subaru's first hybrid in North America was the XV Crosstrek hybrid that arrived for the 2014 model year in Canada. That car used Subaru's own hybrid system that used a small 13-hp electric motor and a 0.6 kWh battery pack. The fuel economy increase was slim, and the model was dropped after 2016. The new Crosstrek Hybrid goes straight to the king of hybrids. Under the hood is the Toyota Hybrid System. That's thanks to a partnership between the two automakers that has Toyota owning a substantial piece of Subaru. So the new Crosstrek Hybrid will share plug-in hardware with the Toyota Prius Prime. Subaru hasn't given out the specs for the power and range of this new hybrid, but the Prius Prime uses an 8.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and uses two electric motors that make 91 hp and give that car a 40 km electric range. This Subaru won't have a Prius engine, though. Subaru said that the Crosstrek Hybrid will stay true to its roots and use a Subaru flat-four engine. Subaru's latest platform, which underpins the Impreza and Crosstrek, was designed to accommodate hybrid and electric powertrains as well as gas-only. Subaru hasn't released photos but did say that the Hybrid would get some styling changes to reflect the new powertrain.

There are many facets to Subaru’s fan base. There’s the Ironman connection for the active, athletic types. Then, there are outdoor enthusiasts who camp, canoe and/or kayak as another following.  There are also the adventure seekers looking to push the limits of their experiences, as another fan base, and don’t forget about the rally fans, who follow closely and support Subaru Canada’s rally team.

But there’s still one more group of enthusiasts to consider when you think Subaru – the performance enthusiast – which is the driving force behind the Toronto Subaru Club’s Hyper Meeting.

From the typical, modded-out, Fast & Furious wannabes to the charismatic collector Subarus, from the super shiny to the magnificent matte finishes, and from the bone-stocks to the wacky and wild oddball vehicles, here’s a collection of just a few of the enthusiasts' vehicles spotted at the Hyper Meeting event.

Extended Ride Review: 2018 Subaru Impreza These days it’s tough to make an objectively “bad” car. Alright - if you guys were to get a vanity plate that said " Suby ", how would you spell it? Just wondering what everyone would choose as the "correct" way to spell it. Suby , Subie or another way?

I don't know how much stock you put in fate. Or maybe you're a "it's just coincidence" kind of person. "In the following years, the Love campaign, inspired by Subaru owners ’ love of their vehicles, loved ones, and causes they keep close to their hearts, continued to build a new identity for

2019 Subaru Crosstrek Pricing Announced .
Subaru has just priced the Crosstrek for 2019. The crossover was all-new last year, so the new year brings small changes. Some updated software for the infotainment system and some slight price changes. The Crosstrek comes standard with a 2.0L boxer-four engine that makes 152 hp. Uniquely for the segment, and for crossovers in general, it continues to be offered with a six-speed manual transmission and all-wheel drive. And not just the base model, either. The manual comes on the Convenience, Touring, and Sport trims. Optional on those trims, and standard on Limited, is Subaru's Lineartronic CVT, the full line has standard all-wheel drive. The Crosstrek's standard 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It gets a software update that Subaru says makes operation smoother and more fluid. There is a new shade of paint this year, dark blue pearl, available on Touring, Sport, and Limited. Base pricing for the Crosstrek remains the same, starting from $23,695. Other trims get a slight bump, up $100 from last year. The 2019 Subaru Crosstrek goes on sale this month.
