  Marchionne Confirms There Are No Offers to Buy Fiat Chrysler Last month, all kinds of rumors cropped up suggesting that a few different Chinese automakers might be interested in buying Fiat Chrysler. Great Wall Motors even confirmed its interest in Jeep. But according to Sergio Marchionne, FCA’s chief executive officer, that interest still hasn’t turned into an actual offer. Reuters reports that Marchionne told reporters there's no offer on the table, and he's not working on any sort of "big deal." Instead, he intends to work on executing the company's established business plan through 2018. However, Marchionne did say he's also working to "purify" its offerings and that certain units may be split off.

A spokesman for Detroit police initially said over the phone that the department could provide Jalopnik with more information on the matter, but subsequent emails weren’t responded to.

Six examples of the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk were stolen from the Jefferson North Assembly Plant earlier this month and only one has been recovered. In some cases, vehicles stolen in Detroit are found within a day or two stripped to the chassis, so it seems likely that these Jeeps are.

The FCA statement on the incident, meanwhile, was brief:

FCA US is working with the Detroit Police Department regarding the theft of six Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawks from the Jefferson North Assembly Plant on Nov. 17, 2017. One vehicle has been recovered. Additional security measures have been put in place at the plant to prevent any further incidents.

FCA did not respond to questions about the exact circumstances of the thefts.

Six Grand Cherokee Trackhawks is about half-a-million dollars worth of SUVs at a minimum, with five of them are still out there. The Trackhawk, as you probably know, has a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 under its hood, and is capable of going from zero to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. It’s also, at a base MSRP of $85,900, the most expensive vehicle Jeep sells by some distance.
