Pirelli has launched a new Scorpion All-Terrain Plus tire specifically for North American pickups and SUVs, featuring a more aggressive design and tread compound for superior performance on- and off-road.

A newcomer to the Scorpion AT tire line, it will be available in wheel fitments ranging from 16 to 20 inches. Most sizes are available right now, with the full line expected in the third quarter of the year, just in time for winter (appropriate, since the tire carries the 3-Peaks Snowflake, designating it suitable for winter conditions).

Pirelli To Offer Six Different Tire Options For Lamborghini Urus

Pirelli To Offer Six Different Tire Options For Lamborghini Urus The supercar disguised as an SUV can be had with gargantuan 23-inch wheels. The Urus is not your run-of-the-mill SUV, so it doesn’t come as a big surprise that Pirelli had to adapt its tire technology for Sant’Agata Bolognese’s long-awaited LM002 spiritual successor. The Italian company (and sole F1 tire vendor) admits it was a “technical challenge” to come up with the suitable rubber for what Lamborghini describes as being the very first Super SUV.

An added asset of the tire is that the noise they make is low. Some users are unhappy with the price up to an extent; their Pirelli Scorpion A/T Truck /SUV Tire . This scorpion does not sting . The tire is good for both on road and off road conditions and the off road experience is awesome.

The aggressive tread pattern and upper sidewall design not only looks good on a truck, but also provides balanced performance in on- and off-road conditions. The new-generation tread compound optimizes durability, traction and wear, while providing high-resistance to cutting and chipping, and superior traction in mud and snow (thanks in part to deep tread grove and conical pebble ejectors).

Covered by an 80,000 km warranty, the All Terrain Plus joins the all-season line that includes the Scorpion Zero All Season Plus, Scorpion Verde All Season Plus, P Zero All Season Plus and Cinturato P7 All Season Plus.

“Our High-Value strategy calls for the diversification of products and services, based on the needs of specific markets and customer groups within those markets,” said Marco Crola, Chief Executive Officer for Pirelli Tire North America, “The new Scorpion All Terrain Plus, which completes our product portfolio, goes in this direction: meeting the specific needs of pick-up truck and SUV drivers.”

This Should Settle The 4WD Vs. 2WD Winter Braking Debate Once And For All

This Should Settle The 4WD Vs. 2WD Winter Braking Debate Once And For All Team O’Neil Rally School shared a video recently about the differences between braking with two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, but people complained the test methods were unfair. So, the school tested it again, and drove home their surprising point: A 4WD system can actually brake better than a 2WD one. In the first 2WD-4WD test, Team O’Neil used a Ford F250 and concluded that driving in 4WD mode helped reduce the stopping distance.

Russia's Unstoppable 4x4 Finally Meets Its Match In Texas .
More than two years ago we were introduced to the Sherp–a heroically unstoppable 4x4 tractor thing from Russia with 63-inch tires. I sort of figured it would be relegated for official use only. But don’t worry, some mud-bogging boys got ahold of one and plopped it into a pit of Texas clay. I’ll save you the suspense from reading this video’s title and explain that, yes, the Sherp did get stuck. Sort of. As the camera guy points out a few minutes in: “If we had eight hours,” it’d probably paddle its way back to solid ground.I just think it’s fun to watch those enormous wheels churn the Earth.
