Backing out of a spot is a little tougher, though OTHER VOICES: The McLaren 570 S is distinct from anything else I can remember driving. Research McLaren 570 S >. Jake Lingeman - Jake Lingeman is Road Test Editor at Autoweek, reviewing cars, reporting on car news, car tech and the world at large.

What I learned using the McLaren 570 S as my daily driver. And how I eventually found a scant few minutes of pure bliss. Visibility is actually pretty good. I set myself to the task of roving about the cabin, testing switches and buttons, and generally getting familiar with my surroundings.

Could be called 600 LT.

Back in March when the Senna was all over the news, a spy video emerged from gorgeous Porto Cesareo in southeast Italy. We actually shared it the same day it was uploaded on YouTube, focusing on the menacing black vehicle carrying the orange “VP725-P15” lettering as that was a Senna prototype and not the final production car.

But right next to it was a 570S, and it wasn’t a completely stock car. Like the new mysterious model McLaren has been teasing in recent days, it had a pair of top-exist exhaust tips. Those didn’t look nearly as nice as the ones featured in yesterday’s teaser image as they lacked the nice finishers while the rear deck was largely carried over from the standard model.

2018 McLaren 570 GT can be as sporty as the 570 S . It's all thanks to the new Sports Pack. Except for the fact that you'll actually be able to bring more than a large wallet with you on the drive. Except you did not read the article very well, it was spotted at a EPA Testing Facility in Michigan, not at a

The work-in-progress car also had a transparent panel at the back, which could be a sign the production-ready model will feature some upgrades such as a new spoiler or even a proper wing to aid aero as it would be appropriate for a track-focused machine. Other tweaks expected include lighter wheels, reduced sound-deadening material, and a titanium exhaust with those two repositioned tips providing a more alluring soundtrack.

Thinner glass and other weight-saving items could be installed to further cut fat compared to the 570S and its dry weight of 1,356 kilograms (2,989 pounds). It is believed the model in question will be called 600 LT, which consequently would mean 600 PS or 592 horsepower, so 30 hp more than the 570S Coupe with its 570 PS (562 hp) from the familiar biturbo 3.8-liter V8 engine.

McLaren is quite handy at building Spiders, isn’t it? It’s a got a great track record. Because all its road cars are built around an ultra-stiff carbon tub, there’s no reinforcement come cabrio-time. The 570 S actually makes for a cracking roadster.

I want a McLaren 570 S . One of our video directors, Jimmy Shelton, looks visibly distraught at the notion of never having one. It might get a little competition from the Acura NSX when it hits streets in the coming months .

With more power having to carry around less weight, the range-topping model from McLaren’s Sports Series should prove to be both quicker and faster than the 570S. The standard model upon which the “600 LT” will be largely based does 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) in 3.2 seconds, 0-124 mph (0-200 kph) in 9.5 seconds en route to 204 mph (328 kph).

We will have all the juicy details on June 28 when the hotter McLaren 570S will celebrate its online premiere prior to its public debut locked in for July at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Like the 675LT before it, the new model from Woking will likely end up as a limited-run special edition. Who knows, maybe they've been sold already...
