What Your Sleeping Position Says About Your Health

What Your Sleeping Position Says About Your Health When it's time to get some shut-eye, not all sleeping positions have the same positive impact on your body. In some cases, the way you sleep could negatively affect your body's well-being - far outside the bedroom. While it's tough to change your habits at first, it's best to know if your preferred sleeping style is supporting or hindering your health. Sleeping on your back The pros: This position is great for balancing out your body weight, keeping your internal organs aligned, and preventing neck and back pain. Just be sure to keep a pillow under your knees to help maintain proper alignment of your back. The cons: If you're a snorer, then you might want to turn to one side; sleeping on your back may make your snoring even worse. Sleeping on your side The pros: Lying on your side in the fetal position with your knees bent and a pillow between your legs can help take stress off your back. It's important to use a pillow to keep your head in a neutral position, so your head won't drop and affect your posture. An added bonus is that sleeping on your left side also reduces heartburn pain. The cons: You're in luck - there aren't really any, since this position follows the natural curvature of the spine. Sleeping on your stomach The pros: When you have lower back pain, occasionally sleeping on your stomach can relieve pressure on your disc spaces.

Before there was the Crock-Pot or Instant Pot, there was the pressure cooker. The manual workhorse you might associate with an Italian nonna at the stovetop has been around for centuries—and there’s good reason why their appeal has persisted for so long.

Beans, ragu, rice (including risotto), roasts, soups, stews—what do these dishes all have in common? They all take a prolonged period of time to make, time most often reserved for more leisurely weekends. The pressure cooker, which uses steam pressure that builds up inside the tightly closed vessel, allows tougher ingredients to cook at just a fraction of the time (we’re talking 40 minutes for chickpeas—no pre-soak required!).

Aaron Carter Enters ER After Being "Bullied & Body Shamed By The World"

Aaron Carter Enters ER After Being Aaron Carter clapped back at critics of his appearance in a series of tweets on Thursday night, claiming he is being "bullied and body shamed by the world." The singer took to Twitter to talk about a woman at his Syracuse, NY show that evening who criticized his weight within earshot. "I'm entirely hurt by a so-called fan that I just encountered she wasn't realizing I was listening, she said I look like I have cancer," he wrote. "This is body shaming. You guys are bullying me. I've already adressed [sic] my medical issues. #bodyshaming." The 29-year-old specifically accused the woman of "gossiping behind my back.

I’ve been pressure cooking now for the past few years and honestly it’s changed my life and how I cook dinners. Let’s face it, we ’ re busier now Secondly there were little to no safety precautions for pressure cookers – no locks, gauges or safety features. So yeah I get why you’d be scared of them.

“I’m extremely passionate about pressure cookers,” she started. “They were a staple piece in both my Italian mother's and grandmother's kitchens, and bring such good memories of amazing broth and pastina (when I was sick), and perfectly cooked lentils or borlotti beans. My mother has a pressure cooker that was my grandmother's from the 1970s that she still uses today (it's missing one handle which, I think, gives it some personality). My grandfather actually bought it for my grandmother because she coveted the piece but stainless steel pots were extremely expensive in Italy at the time.” How’s that for a pressure cooker love story? SWOON.

My own Korean mother is also a huge fan of the device, using it daily for steaming up multigrain rice, and during the colder months for deeply rich oxtail broth (well before bone broth was a thing).

It couldn’t be simpler to use, either. Watch the video above and see if it doesn’t convince you to add this time-saving cooker to your kitchen arsenal.

You’ll Want to Steal the Genius Way Flight Attendants Deal with Smelly Bathrooms

You’ll Want to Steal the Genius Way Flight Attendants Deal with Smelly Bathrooms When you think about it, airplane bathrooms really do sound like a recipe for disaster. Tiny rooms, no windows, unable to be emptied throughout the entire flight—often several hours. But many flight attendants are now using this clever—and super simple—trick to keep bad smells away.

(They’ re totally safe). Nevertheless, I tried to use it a few times to cook dry beans and they never came out quite right. I don’t fault the pressure cooker . I think most of us are attracted to the idea of a pressure cooker as a “kitchen helper.” Something to save us time and money, help get good food on

This Kitchen Hack Will Make You the Perfect Chicken Without Ever Turning Your Oven On .
As it turns out, the slow cooker is the perfect place to braise your bird. As it goes with slow-cooker recipes, patience is a virtue. You can grab a roaster and toss it in the oven, and an hour or so later you're good to go. A chicken in the crock-pot will be cooked in four to eight times the duration. But the results are hard to deny. (Find some other amazing chicken recipes!)The instructions are pretty simple. Season the bird as you wish, and don't sweat the risk of charred seasoning. Make sure the crockpot is the proper size; usually five-quarts does the trick.
