The Simple Way To Cook Pasta Faster

The Simple Way To Cook Pasta Faster
No waiting for water to boil. No draining necessary. Ready in minutes.
Unsurprisingly, it was under these dire conditions that I chose to transgress one of the cardinal rules of cooking—one that even amateur cooks know: I threw pasta… into water… that wasn’t boiling.

Confession: I could eat this pesto straight out of a bowl with a spoon. But it's even better with pasta, because pasta makes everything better. The classic Italian sauce has always been one of my favorites, and once I discovered how much better it tastes homemade than out of a jar, I've never gone back. The intoxicating smell of basil will draw you in as you make this incredibly easy recipe, and you won't be able to resist licking the spoon.

Do your friends and family a favor and share, or save the rest for yourself for a killer leftover lunch or dinner.

14 One-Pot Dinners For Harried Holidays (Or Any Day)

14 One-Pot Dinners For Harried Holidays (Or Any Day) I don’t know about you, but between organizing goodies for my Holiday Swapee and baking batches of granola for snackable gifts (look away, friends!), there isn’t too much room on my kitchen counter. I try to stay organized, but inevitably I’ll stir my cookie dough with the soup spatula. Such is the seasonal chaos of my holiday workshop. In an effort to reduce clutter (and washing), I’m looking to those one-pot wonders we all know and love. I’ll let pots of chili simmer and pans stuffed with cabbage bake until bronzed. If I’m hungry and harried after work (likely), I can bake eggs in a wintery kale sauce or give an all-in-one sheet pan dinner a go. If you’re also looking for streamlined dinners to cut back on the holiday hustle and bustle, here are 14 meals to try. A Creamy, Spicy Pasta Dish to Warm Your Soul .
A Creamy, Spicy Pasta Dish to Warm Your SoulThe story of how this recipe came about almost reads like a rom-com plot (emphasis on almost). One day, my then-boyfriend was over for dinner, and I combined all the leftover ingredients in the fridge to make this pasta. I always have poached chicken on hand, since I make my chicken stock that way, and I happened to have a good stock of fresh herbs. Cue some Aleppo pepper (my favorite way to add heat to any recipe) and a touch of cream and bam—best date-night meal I’d ever made.
