What You Don't Get To See When Your Plane Is Landing There’s no better window seat than the one in the cockpit. Qatar Airways Captain Sandeep Varma posted a mesmerizing video to Twitter last week documenting a plane landing at Queenstown Airport in New Zealand, one of the world’s most scenic airports. The tweet, which has been shared more than 27,000 times, includes a video that shows what pilots see during that particular plane landing: snow-capped mountains above the clouds, prolonged moments with no visibility and a swift approach toward a runway. This is what the pilot sees and the passengers do not seeDuring landing at Queenstown New Zealand Airport pic.

QANTAS has recently installed in-flight entertainment systems that stream content over Wi - Fi and this report suggests the plane in question, VH-VXE, was upgraded to those systems in February 2016. Which explains why passengers were looking up Wi - Fi network names . ®.

The post-9/11 American security state has reached the point where Wi - Fi network names can cause airport scares. “Passengers were reportedly not allowed to leave the plane for about three hours,” ABC 7 reports.

It is not yet clear whether the passenger who had created the Wi-Fi network has been identified.

This Is Why It’s So Tough to Fall Asleep on an AirplaneWhether you’re lounging or in the upright and locked position, a plane seat just isn’t your bed. (This is the reason why your seat needs to be “upright and locked” during takeoff and landing.) The seats are more sardine-packed than ever before.
