  Autopsies completed on girl and father found dead in Red Deer home Autopsies have been conducted for the six-year-old girl and her 39-year-old father found dead on the weekend inside a home in Red Deer, Alta., the RCMP says.The pair have not been identified publicly by police. They were discovered around 3:30 p.m. Sunday at a home in the Lancaster Meadows neighbourhood in southeast Red Deer.

A central Alberta city is mourning the death of a young girl who lived in the community.

Two days after the bodies of a 39-year-old man and his six-year-old daughter were found in a Red Deer home, the flag flew at half-mast at St. Patrick Catholic School in Camrose on Tuesday.

Documents show the home on Lister Crescent in Red Deer is registered to a Robert Lesslie Malcolm Campbell. Neighbours said Monday that Campbell lived alone in the home with occasional visits from his young daughter, Callie, who spent most of her time with her mother in Camrose.

The Elk Island Catholic School District confirmed that a student from the school died suddenly over the weekend.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of this young student and for all the people in our community that are touched by this tragedy,” the district said in a statement.

Norman Mayer, the mayor of Camrose, said residents are “very saddened” for the family and friends of the victim.

“It makes it difficult to understand why things like this happen,” said Mayer.

“It’s just a sad time for us all. It affects all her schoolmates and all the families that are attached to them.”

RCMP found the bodies after being asked to do a welfare check at the Red Deer home on Sunday.

Mounties have not released the names of the victims, and say the determination of the cause and manner of death is pending further test results. However, RCMP said Monday they are not looking for any suspects in the deaths.

The deaths have been treated so far as a suspected murder-suicide.

A close friend of Callie’s mother described the six-year-old as “an amazing kid.”

The girl’s mother, Debbie Hildebrandt, “is such a good person,” said Echo Dickhaut. “She did everything for Callie.”

A former classmate of Campbell’s who lives on the same street said he used to see him and his daughter playing outside or riding bikes every once in a while.

“I took a class with him in college and would see him from time to time out on the street but never really built much of a relationship with him,” said Brant Dunn.

“From my experience with Rob, he seemed like a pretty normal, stable guy.”

Yellow ribbons were tied around a tree in front of St. Patrick Catholic School on Tuesday to designate a place for community members to leave gestures of remembrance.

The district said students and staff at the school are receiving grief counselling and support.

Mayer said Camrose is a close-knit community and that “support will be there for the family.”

The mayor added that news of the incident made him “sad that things of this nature happen.

“Especially to such an innocent young person,” he said.

A Brandon, Man., man is facing several charges in connection with an Amber Alert in northern Ontario involving a two-year-old girl, Ontario Provincial Police say.  The toddler was found safe and the Amber Alert cancelled early Sunday morning. Police were called to reports of a domestic dispute in the township of Chapple, Ont., in the Rainy River District near the Manitoba border, on Saturday just before 7 p.m.When officers arrived they learned that a man had fled with the young girl.An Amber Alert was issued and officers were deployed throughout the area.
