“Those are the two cases that we were made aware of,” university spokesperson Mary-Jo Barr said on Monday.

One of the incidents occurred during the winter earlier this year, while the other reported incident occurred in September, she said.

The university administration only learned of the incidents last week when the two students spoke to campus security, Barr said.

“We’re all extremely alarmed and disturbed, which is why we moved into action as quickly as possible to notify students,” she said. “We don’t want anything like this to happen again.”

The university is cautioning students to be extra vigilant when responding to unsolicited social media offers.

The university also reminded students what resources are available, asking anyone with information or needing assistance to contact Concordia’s Sexual Assault Resource Centre or Concordia’s security department.
