RCMP are investigating a stabbing that occurred late Friday night in Surrey 's Fleetwood neighbourhood . Police say two men were taken to hospital in serious condition, with one man suffering from a stab wound, and the second man sustaining other injuries.

Surrey RCMP says two men are in hospital, and Mounties are investigating after a stabbing in Surrey ’s Fleetwood neighbourhood . RCMP were called to 168 St. near 96 Ave. at around 11 p.m. Friday night.

RCMP are investigating a stabbing that occurred late Friday night in Surrey's Fleetwood neighbourhood.

Police say two men were taken to hospital in serious condition, with one man suffering from a stab wound, and the second man sustaining other injuries.

More than half a dozen police cars were on scene blocking access to traffic on 168 Street, north of 96 Avenue.

Surrey RCMP Sgt. D. Honeyman says it's too early to say what caused the incident.

He said police are speaking with witnesses to gather more information.

Anyone with information about the stabbing, who haven't already spoken with police, are asked to call Surrey RCMP or Crime Stoppers.

STONY MOUNTAIN, Man. - RCMP are investigating a homicide at a federal prison in Manitoba that killed an inmate who was serving a life sentence for beating a woman to death. Police said they were informed of a fight at the Stony Mountain Institution on Sunday night that involved numerous inmates. An 42-year-old prisoner was transported to hospital in serious condition, but police said he later died from his injuries. A news release from Correctional Service Canada has identified him as Max Maurice Richard.
