A car flipped over and ended up in a ditch, Const. David Hopkinson said.When officers arrived, they found a man without vital signs. He was pronounced dead at the scene, paramedics said. He was the lone occupant of the car.The cause of the crash has yet to be determined.

Two days after three people in their 20s were found dead in a vehicle near Conklin , Alta ., two of the victims are being identified by family and friends. Shortly before 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, police were called to the Laguna Access Road where a vehicle was stopped on the road.

Three people found dead in a vehicle near Conklin this month were exposed to lethal levels of carbon monoxide from a faulty exhaust system, say Wood Buffalo RCMP. Faulty exhaust system allowed deadly gas to enter vehicle through air intake for heater.

Three people are dead after they were found unresponsive in a stopped vehicle near Conklin Tuesday.

At around 12:25 p.m., Wood Buffalo RCMP members were alerted to the location of the stopped vehicle on the Laguna access road.

According to a news release, police found a 29-year-old male, a 21-year-old female and a 22-year-old female unresponsive in the vehicle. Police said emergency aid was first provided but all three people were declared dead at the scene.

Police say the identity of the deceased individuals will not be released out of respect for the families.

“Our thoughts and sympathies go out to the family, friends, and anyone who has been impacted by this incident,” reads a statement from the news release.

Police said all possible contributing factors related to the deaths are being considered, and the matter remains under investigation.

Conklin is 357 kilometres northeast of Edmonton.
