  Elderly Couple Dies Within Hours of Each Other After Wife Searches for Husband in Freezing Cold An elderly couple died within hours of each after they ventured out into the brutally cold weather that has gripped their Canadian province since last week. Police found the bodies of Grant Trieber, 90, and his wife Ada Triebner, 83, outside of their Ontario, Canada, cottage during a wellness check on the morning of January 3. Grant was found lying inside the couple’s barn, having died from a massive heart attack, according to Canada’s CBC. Provincial police say Ada likely went out into the elements sometime after to look for her husband before she fell victim to the subzero temperatures, which dipped to -14 degrees on the night before the couple was found.

An elderly man who was assaulted outside the Costco in downtown Vancouver has died of his injuries. The 86-year-old man was left with a head injury during an altercation with a 57-year-old man just after 11 a.m. on Dec . 20. Vancouver police say the victim never recovered from his injuries.

An 86-year-old Vancouver man who was attacked last month near the Costco in downtown Vancouver has died.

Vancouver police say the victim sustained a head injury during a confrontation he had with a 57-year-old man just after 11 a.m., Dec. 20 on Expo Boulevard. The victim never recovered from his injuries. 

“This is an isolated and tragic incident and there is no concern for public safety,” said VPD Sgt. Jason Robillard.

The suspect has been identified but has not been charged.

Police say they are continuing with the investigation and a report to Crown counsel will be submitted when it is concluded.

The family of a 15-year-old bystander who died after being shot Saturday night in Vancouver is "stunned, saddened and exhausted," according to the pastor of the church they attended.The 15-year-old boy was shot while riding  in a vehicle with his parents when gunfire erupted near East Broadway and Ontario Streets, a busy intersection south of the city's downtown, around 9:15 p.m. local time.
