  N.L. group claims $60-million jackpot Social media is abuzz about a history-making $60-million lottery win that will apparently make a group of people in Newfoundland and Labrador instant millionaires. An Atlantic Lottery Corportation spokesperson says whoever purchased the winning ticket in Newfoundland and Labrador will take home the biggest prize Atlantic Canada has ever seen. Tracy Shute says the corporation has been contacted by a group who believes they won the Lotto Max draw, but cannot reveal more information until a security process is complete.Social media users are cracking jokes that jobs are about to open up in a tiny town on Newfoundland's Avalon peninsula.

Aline Khoury of Leamington and Diane Khoury of Windsor cashed in their winning Instant Boom Multiplier ticket in Toronto.

“We like to play instant tickets together,” Diane said, while at the OLG Prize Centre. She added that Aline had missed a bus and decided to purchase a few tickets to play while she waited for the next bus.

“She called me screaming that we had won,” Diane, 23, said. “I thought it was a joke.”

The two sisters plan to pay some bills, go on vacation and purchase a car for their family.

“We’ll also be going on a shopping spree together,” Diane said.

The winning ticket was purchased at Real Canadian Superstore on Talbot Street in Leamington.

The top prize for the Instant Boom Multiplier is $100,000. Odds of winning a prize are 1 in 3.83 according to the OLG.
