Two people were critically injured after a taxi and a transport truck collided in Brampton this morning. The two-vehicle crash occurred near Dixie Road and Queen Street East at around 5:10 a.m. Shooting and Homicide.

Peel police are looking for a male suspect after a shooting at a home in Brampton left two people in critical condition Thursday night.

Const. Bancroft Wright said police were called to the area of Clementine Dr. and Pergola Way around 8:30 p.m. He said a man entered a home in the area prior to the shooting.

When emergency services arrived, they found a man in his 60s and a woman in her 40s suffering from gunshot wounds. Peel paramedics rushed both victims to a Toronto hospital in life-threatening condition.

Wright told reporters a family of five including two children were at the home when the shooting occurred. No other injuries were reported.

Investigators believe the shooting to be an isolated incident as the suspect is known by one of the occupants of the home, Wright said. Police said the suspect is still believed to be armed.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.

Peel police officer taken to hospital after transport truck collides with cruiser .
A Peel police officer was taken to hospital as a precaution on Tuesday after a transport truck driver collided with her cruiser.  The crash occurred shortly before 10 a.m. near the intersection of Derry and Rexwood Roads in Malton. "Luckily there were no injuries, but it being a tractor-trailer, she was taken to hospital to make sure she is okay," Const. Bally Saini said.The driver of the transport truck is also not injured and is co-operating with police. The westbound lanes of Derry Road were closed at Rexwood Road for several hours, but have since reopened to traffic.
