  Woman, 82, injured after TTC bus forced to brake, dies in hospital An 82-year-old woman has died from injuries she sustained after a TTC bus was forced to suddenly brake, causing her to fall, said a police press release on Monday.On May 29, Toronto police said they responded to a call at roughly 9:30 a.m. for a personal injury at Steeles Ave. E., just west of Kennedy Rd. According to the release, a TTC bus was travelling west on Steeles Ave. E., when a white pickup truck, also travelling west on Steeles Ave. E., changed lanes.Toronto Police Const. David Hopkinson said the pickup truck allegedly cut off the bus when changing lanes, forcing the bus driver to hit the brakes. As a result, an 82-year-old female passenger on the bus fell, said Hopkinson.

A woman is dead after a hit and run in the city's west end and police are now searching for the driver of the vehicle that struck her, Toronto police say.

Police were called to the scene in the Dufferin Street and Briar Hill Avenue Monday just after 3 p.m. for reports of a pedestrian struck by a truck.

The victim was rushed to a trauma centre in life-threatening condition and pronounced dead not long after. Her exact age is not known.

The vehicle that struck her is described as a silver Ford F150 while the driver was described by a witness as a male in his 30s, wearing a construction vest.

Dufferin Street is closed in both directions from Briar Hill Avenue to Windgold Avenue for the investigation. The closure is expected to remain in place for "an extended period."
