  Family, police searching for 15-year-old girl missing for 5 days in East York The family of a 15-year-old girl who has been missing for five days is pleading for her safe return.  Sydney Lakhani was last seen walking the family dog near her home at Cosburn and Coxwell avenues at 6 p.m. Tuesday. The dog was found tied up, her mother Nishad Lakhani told CBC Toronto. She was reported missing to police that evening.  Family and friends have been putting up posters of the teen in areas they believe she could have gone — East York, Scarborough, downtown and the Beach.

Police say a Portage la Prairie teen missing since April may have been spotted in Winnipeg.

Karen Savanah Toth, 17, hasn't been seen or heard from since leaving Portage to see friends in Brandon on April 6. She was supposed to return to Portage on April 8 but did not arrive when expected.

Police originally said they believe she may be staying with friends in Brandon or Winnipeg.

On Friday RCMP there have been unconfirmed reports Toth has been spotted in Winnipeg.

The teen also has ties to the community of Dauphin River, added police.

Toth is five-foot-five and roughly 135 pounds, with a medium build, black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on Toth's whereabouts is asked to call Portage RCMP at 204-857-4445.

Body found in Laurentians' Red River .
A body has been found in the Red River in Harrington, north of Lachute, and Quebec provincial police say it could be that of the 20-year-old man who went missing last week. Police say the person's body is still undergoing the formal identification process, but that it's very possible it could be that of the missing man. An autopsy will also be conducted. It was recovered Friday afternoon. The 20-year-old had been swimming with three friends near the rapids below the bridge on Highway 364 in Huberdeau, Que., 20 kilometres south of Mont-Tremblant, when he disappeared.
