Star Wars IX director Colin Trevorrow drops out

Star Wars IX director Colin Trevorrow drops out Another Star Wars franchise film has lost its director. Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow, who was slated to helm the much-anticipated Star Wars: Episode IX, has vacated the director’s chair after what was reported to be creative differences with film execs over the script. Disney released a statement today (Sept. 6) announcing the split: “Lucasfilm and Colin Trevorrow have mutually chosen to part ways on ‘Star Wars: Episode IX.’ Colin has been a wonderful collaborator throughout the development process, but we have all come to the conclusion that our visions for the project differ. We wish Colin the best and will be sharing more information about the film soon.” You’ll notice no new director is named, but an update will likely come swiftly once one is found, as Star Wars fans might be in a panic over the news. This isn’t the first time a Star Wars film was left in limbo over the loss of a director -- in June the new Han Solo prequel lost directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller to creative differences. Acclaimed director Ron Howard quickly took over, though, much to the delight (and relief) of fans. Colin and his writing partner, Derek Connolly, had drafted the script for Episode IX, then Disney brought in screenwriter Jack Thorne to polish it up. It’s been speculated that changes in the rewrite fueled the creative differences. Star Wars: Episode IX is due for release on May 24, 2019, but with this news, there’s a possibility the film may hit theaters at a later date. Until then, you can satisfy your Star Wars appetite with the next installment, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which blasts into theaters December 15.

Harrison Ford is finally opening up about Carrie Fisher's Star Wars affair bombshell... kind of.

In a new interview with GQ, the 75-year-old actor does his best to sidestep questions about the affair that Fisher revealed in her 2016 memoir, The Princess Diarist.

"It was strange. For me," he said of Fisher's book, which was released a month before her death last December. "[I was warned] to a degree."

At the time of their affair on the set of Star Wars in 1976, Fisher was just 19. Ford was 33, and married to his first wife, Mary Marquardt, with two children. He and Marquardt later filed for divorce in 1976.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt named for 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' cameo

Joseph Gordon-Levitt named for 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' cameo Added to the list of high profile names making cameo appearances in the upcoming movie Star Wars: The Last Jedi, is Emmy Award-winning actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Director Rian Johnson revealed the news during a press conference in Japan last weekend, saying, “I think this is OK to say.” He went on to describe what Joseph will be doing in the movie: “My very good friend, the actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who is in a movie I made called Looper, he does a cameo as a voice of an alien in the film. It’s a very brief, little thing but it’s fun. And if you watch the movie and hear, maybe you’ll pick out Joe’s voice in the movie. It’s the first time I’m revealing that!” Previously confirmed to be appearing in cameos in Star Wars: The Last Jedi are Prince Harry and Prince William, as well as Oscar-nominated actor Tom Hardy. The highly anticipated film will be hitting theaters on December 15, 2017.

Fisher did not just stop at the hijinks that took place during filming, she also revealed some intimate details about her personal life like her three-month "intense" affair with her co- star , Harrison Ford . Repubblica. it .

Harrison Ford has finally decided to openly talk about his infamous affair with late Star Wars legend Carrie Fisher – sort of. About the book, Ford said it was strange even though he was warned to a degree.

"I don't know [what I thought of the book]," Ford tells GQ. "You know, with Carrie's untimely passing, I don't really feel that it's a subject that I want to discuss."

The actor refuses to reveal if he wishes the memoir hadn't been written, but admits he "didn't" read it.

Fisher will make her final Star Wars appearance in the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and though Ford's character, Han Solo, was killed in The Force Awakens, the actor hasn't ruled out a return.

"I mean, I'm finished with Star Wars if Star Wars is finished with me," he says. "I can't imagine [they're not finished with me]. But it is science fiction."

“I'd rather not [return],” he adds. “You know, at this point I'd rather do something else. Just because it's more interesting to do something new.”
