Oprah Winfrey Insisted She Doesn’t ‘Have the DNA for’ Being President Ahead of Globes Speech

Oprah Winfrey Insisted She Doesn’t ‘Have the DNA for’ Being President Ahead of Globes Speech Three weeks before her rousing Golden Globes speech that had fans speculating whether she would run for president, Oprah Winfrey made it clear that being the commander in chief is not in her future. “I’ve always felt very secure and confident with myself in knowing what I could do and what I could not. And so it’s not something that interests me,” the 63-year-old former talk show host told InStyle Editor-in-Chief Laura Brown in the cover story for their March Fashion Issue. “I don’t have the DNA for it.” Just because Winfrey doesn’t have an interest in it doesn’t means she hasn’t been approached. “I met with someone the other day who said that they would help me with a campaign,” Winfrey said. “That’s not for me.” “I actually saw a mug the other day … I thought it was a cute mug. All you need is a mug and some campaign literature and a T-shirt,” she joked. “[BFF Gayle King] — who knows me as well as I know myself practically — has been calling me regularly and texting me things, like a woman in the airport saying, ‘When’s Oprah going to run?’ So Gayle sends me these things, and then she’ll go, ‘I know, I know, I know! It wouldn’t be good for you — it would be good for everyone else.’ ” Winfrey has repeatedly denied a desire to run for office in the past, and told CBS This Morning in Oct. 2017, “There will be no running for office of any kind for me.” But interest in Winfrey’s possible presidential run swelled following her rousing Cecil B.

One might think that Oprah Winfrey wouldn’t even have time to respond to those trolling the comments section of her Instagram posts. Most of the time, she probably doesn’t. As one troll learned the hard way, on Saturday she did.

Pretty standard troll stuff. But Winfrey —or, more correctly, the person who runs Winfrey ’s Instagram account—was not taking Aubrey’s mess. “Then why are you here on this feed?” Oprah responded , asking the question every single person who has ever read something on the internet has either

The sassy host was quick to reply with: “... then why are u here on this feed? Life is too short to follow and engage with people u don’t like. Peace Out.”

The banter between the two, now deleted, continued.

The user replied: “I made you famous Oprah. Oprah can you just tell all of your fans I’m not accepting request at this time…I’ve got hundreds of them.”

This clip was part of a larger CBS segment featuring Grey’s Anatomy producer Shonda Rhimes, and actors America Ferrara and Natalie Portman.

Oprah has recently been cast into the spotlight even more so than usual after her moving speech calling for race and gender equality and an end to “a culture broken by brutally powerful men”.

Here, she took the time to express her support for the #metoo and #timesup movement against sexual assault and harassment.

Gayle King shoots down Oprah Winfrey presidential run speculation

Gayle King shoots down Oprah Winfrey presidential run speculation Oprah Winfrey isn’t “actively considering” a presidential run 2020, but the daytime TV powerhouse is “intrigued,” her best friend says.“I do think she’s intrigued by the idea. I do think that,” King, a co-host of “CBS This Morning,” said on Tuesday’s broadcast of the show. “She loves this country and would like to be of service in some way, but I don't think that she’s actively considering it.

When a troll on Instagram decided to come for Oprah Winfrey she had the perfect response. She responded with a quote from holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel: Silence helps the tormentors, it doesn't help the tormented.

year's Golden Globes, we thought there was nobody on the planet who had anything negative to say about Oprah Winfrey . Then we read her Instagram comments. Even Oprah isn't immune to online trolls , it seems, as Instead of letting it go, Oprah responded . "Then why are [you] here on this feed?

"For too long, women have not been heard or believed if they dare speak the truth to the power of those men," the veteran TV host and actress said.

There have also been talks of Oprah running against President Donald Trump at the next US election.

In many people's eyes she is one of the best role models and is a self-made success.

Apart from that she has earned her stripes with the American public by already having had experience in leading powerful changes.

Early in her career, Oprah made a point of speaking out about issues like verbal, physical and sexual abuse.

She also used her high profile  to inspire victims to speak out and pursued legislation to aid in preventing abuse and protecting victims, including The National Child Protection Act in 1993, signed by President Bill Clinton.

James Franco Was Scrubbed From Vanity Fair Hollywood Issue CoverAccording to multiple sources familiar with the shoot, James Franco sat for a photo shoot and interview and was to be featured in the magazine's Annie Leibovitz-shot portfolio. He was removed from the cover digitally, however, due to allegations of sexual misconduct that surfaced in the wake of his Golden Globe win for The Disaster Artist. Subjects for the Vanity Fair cover are often photographed separately in small groups and combined via digital imaging — Franco's removal, then, did not require a reshoot.
