The latest Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor rumor was barely out of the box before it was brushed aside. On Monday, it was reported that Mayweather Promotions had reserved an Aug. 26 date at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas for the prospective crossover bout, but that request has already been verbally retracted according to Lance Pugmire of the Los Angeles Times, citing Nevada State Athletic Commission executive director Bob Bennett. © Jim Young / REUTERS The request was to be discussed at an NSAC meeting Wednesday and Bennett clarified that the date is not necessarily off the table.
