The Penguins center took the Stanley Cup on a tour of his native Nova Scotia as part of a celebration for his 30th birthday weekend. Crosby, who will turn 30 on Monday, also had laid out for his birthday party several other trophies, including the Conn Smythe he earned in June while leading the Penguins to their second straight Stanley Cup title.

Crosby also led the Penguins to a Stanley Cup championship in 2009 and this weekend's Nova Scotia tour was the third time he took the Cup to various sites in Halifax. Among the weekend's multiple visits was a trip to a children's hospital.

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia (AP) — Sidney Crosby will mark his 30th birthday by once again parading the Stanley Cup in his province.

Most of the Pittsburgh Penguins players have had their time with the Stanley Cup , and it was Sidney Crosby ’s turn over the weekend. 5 trophies on display including the # stanleycup at the Crosby party in Nova Scotia .

"It was a surprise to patients, one-on-one visits and lots of smiles," Nick Cox, a spokesperson for the IWK Health Centre, told CBC News. "He did it for the kids. It wasn't for the media, it wasn't for staff. It was just for the patients.

"He wanted low key and low key is what we did — as low key as you can when you're carrying the Stanley Cup through the health center.

He also took the Cup to a farmer's market and a retirement home.

He even got his gift from the owner of the gift shop at Withrows Farm Market — a birthday cake and Pittsburgh Penguins onesie pajamas.
