“May-Mac is number one in Canada, another one of our UFC events is two and three. This one is trending to beat all three of them,” White said during a recent media scrum. “I’m very confident that this fight will break the record in Canada, that we just broke with May-Mac, and be number one.

McGregor apologises for using homophobic slur

McGregor apologises for using homophobic slur Conor McGregor expressed regret for using a homophobic slur that was caught on camera while he was talking to teammate Artem Lobov backstage at UFC Gdansk on Oct. 21. "I was whispering in his ear and I was speaking on that and I said what I said,” McGregor told Ireland's "The Late Late Show," according to MMA Fighting's Dave Doyle. "I meant no disrespect to nobody of the LGBT community. I didn’t mean no disrespect.

“We’re going to do a million buys between the United States and Canada.”

White also gave a similar statement during the UFC fighters meeting.

“We’re on track to beat McGregor vs Mayweather — thank you, Georges,” he said. “This place here (MSG), we’re going to be number three all-time gate. We’re number one and number three.”

Ranked number 1 on Madison Square Garden’s all-time gate records was UFC 205, which was $17.7 million and headlined by Conor McGregor vs Eddie Alvarez. Boxing’s Holyfield vs Lewis bout from 1999 is 2nd at $13.5 million.

Depending on who you ask, Mayweather vs McGregor either approached the pay-per-view records set by Mayweather vs Pacquiao or blew past them, with White’s figures being at 6.7 million buys.

If UFC 217 indeed ended up with $1 million pay-per-view buys, it obviously wouldn’t come close to MayMac’s global numbers, but it would be by far the best selling event for the UFC in 2017.

ABC head: UFC has pulled McGregor from year-end bill over Bellator incident .
It appears the UFC has stripped Conor McGregor of the booking that never was. Mere days after the Irishman crashed the cage - among other things - at a Bellator event in his native Dublin, Mike Mazzulli, the president of the Association of Boxing Commission who oversaw the show, told Ariel Helwani on Monday's edition of "The MMA Hour" the UFC has pulled McGregor from UFC 219 as punishment for the debacle.
