Gudas lost his helmet while engaged with Winnipeg's Mathieu Perreault and proceeded to swing his stick in a chopping motion on the back of Perreault's helmeted head as the Jets forward fell to the ice.

Early in the third period, Winnipeg's Bryan Little scored a solo goal after being left alone up front to put the Jets up 6-2.

Immediately after, though, a brawl ensued on the ice.

It's understandable that the Wild were frustrated, as they had just come off a three-goal loss to the Blues on Saturday. The 7-2 loss on Monday brought the Wild to 11-10-3 on the season.

The Jets have now won seven of their last nine games with their five-goal win on Monday.

Micheal Haley scored the go-ahead goal midway through the third period to lead the Florida Panthers over the Winnipeg Jets 6-4 on Thursday night. Vincent Trocheck had two goals, and Denis Malgin, Mark Pysyk and Aaron Ekblad also scored for the Panthers, who snapped a three-game skid. James Reimer made 35 saves.Patrik Laine had a goal and two assists for the Jets. Blake Wheeler, Adam Lowry and Nikolaj Ehlers also scored. Eric Comrie stopped 30 shots in his second career start.The Panthers took a 5-4 lead when Haley redirected a shot by Derek MacKenzie 9:58 into the third. Trocheck added an empty-netter with 10.
