The Arizona Cardinals are expected to sign quarterback Sam Bradford when free agency opens on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The deal is reportedly for one year and worth $20 million, including $15 million guaranteed and an option.

Bradford has spent the last two seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, throwing for more than 4,200 yards with 23 touchdowns and completing nearly 72 per cent of his passes over 17 games. However, he played in just a pair of games this past season due to injury.

Selected with the top pick in the 2010 NFL Draft by St. Louis, Bradford has started 80 games for the Rams, Philadelphia Eagles and Vikings. Injuries have been the biggest story of Bradford’s career, as the 30-year-old missed half of the 2013 season following a left ACL tear and then the entire 2014 season after suffering another injury to that same knee.

The Cardinals were left looking for a quarterback after Carson Palmer retired in January following five seasons in Arizona. Bradford gives general manager Steve Keim and new head coach Steve Wilks a temporary solution at the position as the franchise looks for a long-term answer through the draft.
