Isaiah Crowell wasn’t happy with his role in the Browns’ offense.

The 25-year-old running back signed a three-year contract, worth a reported $12 million, with the Jets in March. He spent the first four seasons of his career with Cleveland.

Crowell was the Browns lead back last season but he split carries with Duke Johnson. Crowell told the New York Post he was frustrated in Cleveland.

“You just never knew,” Crowell said about his role. “Sometimes it was (an every-down situation), sometimes it wasn’t. You just never knew week in and week out. I felt like that was discouraging and annoying.”

Crowell started all 16 games for the Browns in 2016 and 2017. Cleveland registered a combined 1-31 record in those two seasons.

“It wasn’t a good feeling. Nobody likes to lose,” Crowell said. “I’m a sore loser. I do whatever I can to win.”

Crowell received 206 carriers and tallied 853 rushing yards last season. He registered 3,118 rushing yards and 22 total touchdowns during his four seasons with the Browns.
