Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman grew unhappy enough with a line of questioning from local talk show host Jim Moore that as he left the stage after his press conference Tuesday he said he could "ruin'' Moore's career.

There is more to Seattle 's Richard Sherman than one WWE-style postgame interview. Of course, that's not what everyone will want to talk to Richard Sherman about for the next two weeks. It's odd that the media often lines up against him, because after what he did to Skip Bayless on "First Take"

SEATTLE — In the last three months, Richard Sherman has called out his head coach, his offensive and defensive coordinators and, here’s a good one, threatened to revoke the credentials of a member of the Seattle media.

The Seahawks’ cornerback has now initiated a boycott of the local media. At least things will be quieter in Seattle for the foreseeable future.

“I have supported him for a long time and will continue to,” Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said of Sherman. “I think he’s a brilliant kid and it doesn’t mean you guys are always going to see eye-to-eye on stuff.”

That would turn out to be the case throughout the season, which is why defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo has installed expansive passing-down blitz packages. Having corners he trusts on an island has put all blitz designs in play.Against Aaron Rodgers, many teams eschew blitzing and put extra bodies in coverage. The Giants did this in that first matchup, blitzing only four times.

“I’ll make sure you don’t get your media pass any more,” Sherman said. “Oh, is that right?” Sherman has literally gone past the line now . His Facebook posts are becoming odd, this won’t end well in Seattle unless they Richard should use that old Seattle line, “I’m just here so I won’t get fined.” It appears fail attempt by Pete Carroll and Roger Gooddell to talk to this guy didn’t do any good.

While it’s difficult to know what Sherman is thinking, it seems his media blackout arose out of the coverage in Seattle of his latest snit, a pre-Christmas confrontation with radio host Jim Moore. Sherman informed Moore he’d “ruin” his career when he was asked about his run-in with offensive coordinator Darrell Bevel over play-calling in the Seahawks’ win over Los Angeles on Dec. 14.

This isn’t to be confused with an earlier run-in with defensive coordinator Kris Richard in an October win over Atlanta or a sideline argument with Carroll in the same game against the Rams.

At any rate, Sherman announced this week he’d no longer speak to members of the Seattle media but would speak to ESPN’s Ed Werder. It’s unclear what Werder did to deserve this special designation.

Sherman also said it was a “privilege” for him to speak to the media ahead of Saturday’s NFC Wild-Card game against the visiting Detroit Lions.
