The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed a contract extension with national kicker Tyler Crapigna , who will remain with the team through 2019. Crapigna , 24, was acquired by the Riders in October, 2015 from the Calgary Stampeders. Last season, Crapigna connected on 36 of 42 field goal attempts, with a 53-yard-long and 22 of 25 convert attempts, while adding 51 kickoffs for 3,110 yards.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed a contract extension with national kicker Tyler Crapigna, who will remain with the team through 2019.

Crapigna, 24, was acquired by the Riders in October, 2015 from the Calgary Stampeders.

Last season, Crapigna connected on 36 of 42 field goal attempts, with a 53-yard-long and 22 of 25 convert attempts, while adding 51 kickoffs for 3,110 yards. He was named the Riders’ most outstanding special teams player and most outstanding Canadian.

Before being drafted into the CFL in 2014, Crapigna spent five seasons at McMaster University, where he became the Canadian Interunversity Sport’s all-time leader in field goals.

Roughriders trade Durant to Alouettes .
MONTREAL - The Montreal Alouettes got the veteran quarterback they were seeking Friday when they acquired Darian Durant from the Saskatchewan Roughriders for two draft picks. Durant played 11 seasons for Saskatchewan. He is eligible to become a free agent Feb. 14 and reportedly turned down a lucrative recent contract offer from the Roughriders. "We are more than pleased to be able to acquire a quarterback of the calibre of Darian Durant and we are confident that we can reach a new agreement with him," Kavis Reed said in a statement after his first major move since replacing Jim Popp as the Alouettes general manager Dec. 14.
