Team Mexico may have itself a strong reinforcement for the World Baseball Classic.

Toronto Blue Jays starter Aaron Sanchez could join the national side if Mexico manages to progress past the opening group stage, according to MLB Network's Jon Morosi.

Sanchez would add considerable firepower to a Mexico rotation, which only features two bona fide starters in Jaime Garcia and Miguel Gonzalez. In 30 starts last season for the Blue Jays, the 24-year-old right-hander posted a 3.00 ERA while winning 88.2 percent of his starts and allowing just 0.7 home runs per nine innings, all top marks in the American League.

Sanchez decision creates new chapter in Blue Jays-Boras relationship

Sanchez decision creates new chapter in Blue Jays-Boras relationship Aaron Sanchez’s decision to join the Boras Corporation may not seriously impact the Blue Jays for now, but it’s still noteworthy for a couple of reasons.Sanchez’s move to the Boras Corporation, first reported Tuesday by Sportsnet’s Hazel Mae, was viewed by some in the industry as a power move because Scott Boras has a reputation as an aggressive, outspoken agent who typically encourages clients to test free agency.

Marco Estrada, Aaron Sanchez Roberto Osuna look set to pitch for Mexico at WBC , Marcus Stroman for US.

Stroman worked out of a couple of jams without serious damage and allowed just one extra-base hit, but the typically potent Jays offense could not pick him up versus Alex Meyer. The right-hander has now rattled off five quality starts in his last seven tries and has lowered his ERA to 4.50. If Sanchez does suit up for Mexico, he wouldn't be the only Blue Jays pitcher on the team. Closer Roberto Osuna has also committed to playing in the tournament.

Mexico will be part of Pool D along with Puerto Rico, Venezuela, and Italy, which it opens the competition against on March 9.

Stroman on relationship with Sanchez: We're not as close, but still friends .
Strochez no more? Toronto Blue Jays starters Marcus Stroman and Aaron Sanchez's well-known friendship seems to have hit a snag, following weeks of speculation that the two were dealing with a possible feud. "We’re still friends," Stroman said, according to John Lott of the Athletic. "We’re not as close, but we’re still friends." "We’re not as close, we’re not as close. Obviously, we go our separate ways. We’re around different people. But we’re still friends, we’re still friends. Just because we’re not together every single second of the day, people, like, lose their mind.
