Samsung filing hints that smart glasses might still be coming

Samsung filing hints that smart glasses might still be coming For years, there have been rumors that Samsung might be making smart glasses. The first hint of Samsung developing some sort of Google Glass-style wearable was back in 2013, with a design patent for a pair of “sports glasses.” Then, in 2014, a report from the Korea Times cited unnamed Samsung officials who said Samsung was indeed making its version of Google Glass, tentatively called Galaxy Glass. The glasses never surfaced, and talk about such a product slowed to a halt. This new trademark application is the first indication since 2014 that Samsung is still interested in and pursuing its own brand of smart glasses.

LG's next flagship phone may tout an extra-bright, low-power screen

LG's next flagship phone may tout an extra-bright, low-power screen Just because LG is shying away from typical smartphone release cycles doesn't mean it will have nothing big to show in 2018. Well-known leaker Evan Blass has heard that LG is planning to unveil a new flagship phone, nicknamed Judy. The star attraction, as with the G6, would be the display -- though not for the usual reasons like size or resolution. Judy would have a 6.1-inch, 18:9 ratio screen whose MLCD+ technology (which includes white sub-pixels) promises a high 800-nit brightness while consuming 35 percent less power than a typical IPS LCD panel. You could use the phone outside on a sunny day without killing your battery as quickly as usual.

Samsung Galaxy S9: Our first photos with the new camera .
Samsung’s Galaxy S9 was announced with one primary goal: amp up the camera. I’ve had the device for a little over two days and have spent most of my time with it playing with the camera. It’s a clear improvement over the S8, as expected, but it’s a bit too early to make any claims over superiority over the rest of the market.
