Sony's pro 4K camcorder has Netflix-friendly 'Instant HDR'

Sony's pro 4K camcorder has Netflix-friendly 'Instant HDR' HDR has become just as important as 4K for streaming and Blu-Ray users who care about seeing films and series the way the creators intended. The FS5-II can handle 60 fps high-framerate 4K recording, shoot 4K 120 fps in four-second bursts, and output 240 fps 1080p for eight seconds. Internally, it can handle 8-bit 4K at 30fps, or HD at up to 120 fps. However, many production pros will probably attach an Atomos Ninja or other device and record RAW 4K using Apple's new ProRes RAW or regular ProRes recording formats. It also packs new color science that improves skin tones, a common complaint about the last model.

Now Sony’s announced a new version- the DPT-CP1, which is basically the exact same thing but in A5 size.

The 10.3-inch screen has a resolution of 1404 x 1872 at 224 dots per inch, and is capable of 16 levels of greyscale. The DPT-CP1 has 16GB of storage for PDF files, which can be shared with iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac devices through a companion app. It’s 5.9mm thick and weighs about half a pound, with Sony claiming it’ll last around a month on a single charge.

HP takes on the iPad Pro with its way cheaper Chromebook x2 convertible If you’re in the market for a large tablet, you couldn’t do much better than Apple’s excellent – if ridiculously expensive – 12.9-inch iPad Pro. The 12.3-inch convertible device is the second Chrome OS-powered tablet ever made, after Acer’s Chromebook Tab 10, and it comes with a detachable keyboard and trackpad, as well as a stylus – making it appear quite similar to most laptops. The whole thing comes in at a light 1.4kg, and measures just 15.3mm in thickness.

Sony has been continuing to dabble with E Ink digital devices for the last several years, long after many competitors have fled the market. That is because it found itself a niche with its Digital Paper tablet like pad

Like the larger model, the DPT-CP1 is likely to remain a Japan-only product, and it isn’t really aimed at mainstream consumers — Sony says the price will be “under” 70,000 yen, or about $650, which would make it roughly $100 cheaper than its bigger sibling. It’ll be available in early June.
